Maybe he/she thought it was don't park in front of the sign, like don't park in front of a fire hydrant but parking between them was okay. Or more likely it was some idiot who as you said thinks rules don't apply to them because they won't be held down by 'the man' in government (insert following rambling self important rant how he/she pays taxes and should be allowed to park where and when they want because it's their constitutional right (must be one of the more obscure amendments) to lot learn what laws are and that they should be obeying but to make them up as they go along).

nah, its pretty clear in person. there is a disabled access path right past the car, and when there is no snow on teh ground there are markings. yes it was dark, but he's a regular, definitely knows better, but the parking lot was full, and his kids were likely late and so on.

Ah the old 'there was no spaces but these ones' and the 'I need to park here for my children' routines are always good fall backs for 'honestly I don't give a crap, I'm getting done what I want to get done so screw you'.

Best way to feel better - leave a nice, 3D snow dick on their windshield. Balls and all. Make it a three-baller if you can.
